FHT PRESENTATION - 2 DECEMBER 2018: MIND FULL OR MINDFUL?

On Sunday, 2nd December 2018 I led a group of enthusiastic FHT members and friends who'd shunned the Christmas shopping masses for a mindfulness session at the Harbour Arts Centre.

The aim of the presentation was to introduce the mindfulness that I practice based on the dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) model of mindfulness practice.  There's a lot of confusion between mindfulness with a practical element to it like the sessions today and the Buddhist principle and practices of mindfulness.

We took part in an awareness exercise as well as a movement one and the different exercises let different aspects of our thoughts, feelings and emotions be known to each of us.  How we felt, what we were imagining, what we experienced bodily in the moment were shared among the group's participants.

I will be running courses in the new year at the Harbour Arts Centre and if you're interested in coming along to the small (max 8 people) sessions, then please feel free to drop me a message and I can get you booked in as soon as possible.
